Part Of The Queue

PART OF THE QUEUE (N. Gallagher)
WRITTEN:
DEMO:
RECORDED: Capitol Studios, Los Angeles, CA.
COMMENTS: Not about buying a pint of milk. Rainbow titles inspired "streets and the colours all bleed into one". Song is about "life in the big city" and "idiots in London". (Noel, XFM 30.5.05). Liam thinks it's a bit miserable. (Liam, Radio 1 - 23rd May 2005). 3/4 times. The most adventeurous rhymically we've ever done. It wasn't a concsious thing to try different rhythmsically but it was to stay away from stuff we've done in the past like Little By Little and Live Forever, straight up rock and foll tunes. Castro did do his parts in grean army fatigues, and thick black sunglasses with a cigar.(Noel, Radio 2 - 23rd May 2005). "The title came to me whilst queuing up for a pint of milk. It's about living in a big city and how there isn't much of a communal spirit." (Noel, 4music, 3rd June 2005)
"There's a supermarket across the road from where I live and I went to buy a pink of milk one morning and the queue just took for ever to get to the checkout. it took me half an hour to buy a pint of milk. I wrote a song about how living in London means you're forever queuing up for stuff you're trying to buy."
OTHERS: Produced and mixed by Dave Sardy. Mixed by Dave Sardy at The Village, Los Angeles, CA. Drums by Zak Starkey. Percussion by Lenny Castro.
